Notes: Growing up. I feel this is the unspoken rule of any good story for children, you should never ask what happens when they're older? Yet here I am, always asking this question, always thinking about what happens next, not because I am dissatisfied with the story, but maybe because I am dissatisfied with what adulthood has given us. There's a quote I like to roll out from Nicky Wire of the Manic Street Preachers, that it is "not that we had bad childhoods, but that our childhoods were too good."

Notes: From February, [personal profile] evilinsanemonkey is hosting a Jetman watch-a-long on [community profile] pr2017, which means that I hope Jetman will be on your minds as you read these requests. I love Maria, I love her pettiness, I love her cruelty. I am not especially invested in who she was in the moments before she became Maria, but I am interested in her role as a member of series villains, Vyram. Any act of perceived romance born from spite, anything she might use to tarnish the image of the person Tendo Ryo tells her she once was, would be greatly appreciated. NTR, dubcon, noncon, go wild.

Notes: It's been a hot minute since Negima! was popular, but over the last few months I've been revisiting all facets of its adaptation in animation and live action and I've become deeply invested in it (again). I think it's fascinating watching Negima! struggle with its ambition to be a shonen battle manga, and I have been charmed by how often it both strives and succeeds, especially by the time the Magic Country arc begins. I wanted to include Konoka/Setsuna here because they are adorable and it feels like an easy pick for those of you who have not thought as intensely as I have about the work of Akamatsu Ken over the last few years, but I will lay my (pactio) cards on the table and tell you that Evangeline is my favourite character in the series. Any interference from other SHAFT related small, blonde vampires is also welcome.

Characters/Pairings: Kasuga Haruna/Shiratori Kurumi, Kasuga Haruna /& any other member of Lyrical Lily and/or Arisugawa Academy
Notes: I really love Class S as a genre. When I realised the second season of the D4DJ anime was centred around a group from a Catholic school, it was enough to make me get invested despite my lack of proficiency when it comes to gacha games. I don't think the second season does justice to what has gone before in the series, nor does it do a good job of explaining what D4DJ is, but I gave it a pass, because the moment Haruna, Kurumi, Miyu and Miiko were introduced and their relationships were explored, I read it as homage to both Class S and, more specifically, Maria-sama ga Miteru. I love slice of life stories, I love daily challenges, little quibbles, the difficulty of opening your heart to someone else. Anything to do with the changing of seasons, a sense of preparing for adulthood, the realisation that time is short, that's all catnip to me. I also welcome any callbacks to Maria-sama, to Strawberry Panic!, to Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club even. Having read that sentence, you already know the kind of person I am.

Notes: I always try to include one very big, very popular fandom just in case the rest of my requests are too weird. Marvel Rivals is pretty big right now, right? My friend told me I should ask for 'Magik from Marvel Rivals AU fic where she's in a haunted asylum and played by Anya Taylor Joy' which is what I want but I don't want to tell you that directly. I like the characters of the New Mutants both in print and on screen. Why do you like New Mutants, Courtney, you might ask. Is it because it's set in a school? Why, yes. Yes, it is. Any attempts to ground Marvel Rivals in the history of the source material is welcome, any attempts to smudge the details slightly and create a tapestry from different adaptations are also welcome.
