maria llovet: so the only comic i've read by llovet is eros/psyche, but i think you'd like her based on your asks. she writes queer/sapphic romance often (with exceptions!) that are submerged in horror, surrealism, and general weirdness. definitely explore her work! she draws and writes many of her comics which is really cool.
luana vecchio's doll parts: ok so HUGE blanket content warning for the subject of this series. the horror of this series is very realistic, in its exploration of real-life horror, things that happen to people, the horror in growing up as a teenage girl. so blanket warning for rape (this is on your DNWs - as this is a currently releasing series i cannot tell you if this will be explored explicitly in the forthcoming issues, so please take precautions and avoid if needed. in the currently released issues it is not explicit but is very much a main subject), murder, gore, eating disorders. there is more to this series and i am wary about recommending it based on those warnings, but i recommend it anyway because the horror in this is so palpable. behind the pastel goth pink purple cuteness of the artwork is truly horrifying content. luana vecchio understands a lot about what she's writing and the dread and horror in this is truly flawless. note that this is an ongoing mini-series.
comic recs!
