One Week Down...

hurtcomfortex, pickmeupexchange, idproquo, seasonsofdrabbles, diegetic_exchange + mystery pinch-hits and treats): I am going to move fandom5k out to July/August because otherwise this bullet will linger through the end of July. So now this is still done at 11/11, and the final reveals have happened! Here are the things I wrote:- Untouchable was my assignment for hurtcomfortex, Hannibal/Will, more post-fall fun.
- A Thousand Meetings was my assignment for pickmeupexchange, Charles/Erik X-Men movie-verse, and turned into a monster that was tons of fun to write.

- Exchanges due in July/August (fandom5k now, caseficexchange, nonconex, justmarriedexchange, Terrible Temperature Troubles flash + mystery pinch-hits and treats + future stuff): With fandom5k moved over, I am now at 5/7. I did, indeed, finish The Shiny Thing That Ate My Brain last week, hooray! I didn't get any of my other assignments done, but I did get a start on one of them. My goal this week is to finish at least one of the remaining two, and crystallize my ideas for the other one. I'm also eyeing several pinch hits, although I'm not going to set a goal for any of them while my schedule is so busy.
- Also, I got two gifts for Temperature Flash! I love that one of them is heat-focused and the other is cold-focused, the best of both worlds:
- The Beast and I Are One: Hannibal/Will post-fall escaping from Chesapeake Bay and huddling together for warmth while wet and naked, YUM!
- Too Hot for Work: Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan trying to stay cool in the summer heat by taking advantage of Shen Wei's naturally cool body, also YUM!
- Potentials for July/August...and even September/October: I see some things shaping up on the distant horizon! As predicted, I skipped raremaleslashex (although may check out pinch hits), and I think I'm sitting out iddyiddybangbang. However! The following things are all coming up and look relevant to my interests: enemiestoloversex (I've already nominated), Grief/Mourning Flash, classicfilmex, fallingforyoufallexchange, ficinabox(!!!), & seasonsofdrabbles. There's also rarepairexchange, although that's more debatable, and then I remain vaguely tempted by scaldinghotcibingo. So I should keep myself busy for the foreseeable future. 😊
- Once again again again, no updates on Femslash Salad Bar (shocking!).
- I'm now 1/4 through BNHA S3. I'm going to hit a problem with my current episode source at the halfway mark, but I think I've found a back-up solution. Aiming to watch more of this, this week.
- I still haven't picked up any books. I'm waiting for the next item in my library queue to come up, unless I change my mind before then.
Goals for this week: 1) Survive work moar, 2) Finish 1 of my remaining assignments, 3) Figure out my other assignment, 4) Watch some BNHA, 5) ???, 6) Profit!

After a while, I finally decided that having a fic archive would be a good idea. I was going back an forth on if I should wait to get a supporter role on neocities but decided to just make a new account. For now, It will have a few fics, mostly ones from smaller categories to have something to work with and to be read, later I will work on getting all my bsd and idv fics up. I have a lot of them so it will take a while to have it all sorted out.
In the meantime, I am thinking if I should forget about archiving my fics here. I will still have them on ao3, my laptop and now the archive, so there isn't much need for a community here. I don't plan on getting a membership here anytime soon, so having spare space for a community is nice. Not that I plan on using them much, but at some point, it might be useful. I will still think about it well, as I still have enough time to think over it.

Fanfiction Festa: Summer Edition 2025
Jul. 15th, 2025 07:30 pmnanamikentoLast time I started off strong with my bingo cards, but I lost momentum. I felt like I didn't see much from others and I didn't find time to progress prioritizing IRL things. I won't trash that, but I know I can do more this time around.
What I'll do this time around:
- Firstly, any and all updates will be more accurate here on DW. There's more room for editing and formatting here. Bluesky will have shorthand updates.1
- Secondly, and currently, I'll slowly choose half the fics ahead of time for the bingo card fills so I won't be burning precious time raking through potential fills during August.
- Thirdly, I'll start reading event submitted fics as soon as I see them or by the end of the day versus tell myself I'll get to it later.
1As stated above, the tracking of comment and share fills will be similar format to what I did last time on bluesky, a thread of fics with a quick fic summary.

Site updates and progress
Jul. 11th, 2025 07:13 pmovermoreAs I recently updated my site to the v5 of it, I've finally gone through some much needed changes for it, like removing pages I really wasn't using in any way or updating the way you navigate some pages (mainly project page and writing page) but there are some other stuff I'm happy I worked on. Mainly updating the main page to feel bigger. I like the smaller ones, they do look neat, but I felt like there was just not enough of everything I wanted to show on it. With me still figuring things out on how I want it to look like, I really am having a hard time picking how I want the main page to look like. I want to have so much pretty stuff, but making that a reality will take a lot of time man.
The thing I am the happiest about was figuring out how to use iframes efficiently.Using target ID is a lifesaver, no more multiple pages for the same thing with different center text, now it's all iframes!I admire people who have their whole page done in iframes, cause that does take a lot of work. Not for me since I like having more than one page with pretty decorations (or at least i would like to have, since this is still not the case for me) so I will be sticking with that for project and writing pages since those do need to be a bit more practical.
I'm also considering getting color TCG and getting my fanfic archive set up somewhere. There's not neat templates to work with, as I don't think I'll be able to make it all by myself, so that's one thing made easier. Just not sure if I want to have it all on my main site or have a separate one. Since I don't have the ability to get domains yet and I can't support neocities still for a supporter role, the on site solution might be the best. When it comes to color TCG, I am kinda lost on it. Not sure how to make it and use it. There's a neocities template that makes it all easier, but really, it does not look like that to me. I'll just have all the files on my PC for a bit before I decide for sure.
So far, I'm happy with my progress. Is my code any good? Probably not, but it works. It ain't a professional site so it does not matter much, as long as you can navigate it. I do wanna work on improving a lot of things still, maybe making it look cooler. For the time being, I'll stick to writing articles and ramblings on stuff I like.
